Go full MONK MODE. In 1600, after the Battle of Sekigahara, Tokugawa Ieyasu striving to rule a unified Japan, faced constant threats from rivals. During one of these turbulent periods, he disguised himself as a monk to evade capture and potential assassination. Wearing the humble robes of a traveling monk, Ieyasu blended in with commoners, escaping danger while maintaining his composure. His ability to strategize even in disguise exemplified the cunning and patience that would later define his leadership. In 1603, he was named Shogun, marking the beginning of the Tokugawa shogunate, which would rule Japan for over 250 years.
